ASIAProductions 1000 has been working on initiatives that strengthen China’s environment. In 2005, Richard Marks and Sophia Trapp attended the Beijing International Renewable Energy Conference. That year, they participated in an energy business delegation in six major Chinese cities. The delegation was sponsored by the UN-accredited NGO organization, The International Fund for China’s Environment, which promotes sustainable development in China, clean energy technologies and policy planning for the protection of China’s environment. The delegation experienced a rare view into the fastest developing cities in China, and the opportunity to be among the first U.S.-based consultants to have unique face-to-face meetings with the powerful National Development and Reform Commission, senior government officials and city mayors to discuss renewable technologies, investment and long range environmental planning.
The Ecological Business Development (EBD) project engaged Productions 1000 in a privately held, major re-forestation land project near Beijing to stop desertification caused by climate change.
In 2008, Productions 1000, Ltd. produced, sponsored and hosted the first “International Earth Forum” three weeks before the opening of the Beijing Olympic Games.
ECOLOGICAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, CHINAIn 2007-2008, Productions 1000 conducted in- depth strategic planning, content and communications services for a major re-forestation project near Beijing. This is the first privately-held land restoration project of its kind in China open for international venture cooperation. The urgency of its purpose is to stop serious desertification of the grasslands in Inner Mongolia. We engaged in intensive on-site consultation, analysis, and discussions in Beijing and Inner Mongolia with high-level business leaders and government officials on sustainable development and planning strategies. We generated in-depth recommendations for attracting international investment, eco-tourism, and telling the story internationally. Specific focus was on creating an effective promotional communications plan, communications tools including a new bi-lingual website, and collateral materials to show how the trees are a real & tangible investment opportunity China’s significant desertification control & pollution.
